By: Alan Spearman - 23rd August 2009 (at 12:23PM)

The wash House where as a Boy I would go and meet My Mam and help her carry the washing home as we did with my mates Mam's. Calling at Alfie Pattersons shop on the corner of Shipley street and Raby street for sweets if we were lucky. The Swimming bath's next door to the wash house where we spent most of our day's and the big coloured Guy Arthur who would throw you in the water if he caught you standing by the radiator to get warm. It was freezing most of the time, but I loved swimming and Arthur was O.K. and a nice Guy.
