By: Anne Dexter - 8th September 2010 (at 11:06PM)I remember Karina so well, I used to go into the shop as a girl, and always looked at the large photo of her brother 'Dennis Donini' with his posthumos VC medal pinned in the corner of the photograph hanging on the wall, Karina was nice, she used to make a fuss of my brother Keith Fortune when he was a lad, and of course she kept the biscuit tins at the front of the counter, which was tempting at the time, they were good people, like a lot of good Colliery Folk.

Mrs. Donini in her shop doorway.
By: Mary Nightingale Bell - 13th December 2009 (at 10:16AM)This is not Mrs. Donnini. It is her daughter Karina who married Maro Ferri. He is still alive. Their son runs a catering business. The best in the area. I belong Easington Colliery. Greta to see pictures of Easington. Lovely website. Mary Nightingale Bell
