in action at Beckhole during the afternoon. Beckhole has a splendid ground on the green of this small village. Quoit club individuals generally start around 2pm on Saturday and go on well into the dusk. Two grounds now have floodlights so that the competition may be finished during the same day. The thing about Beckhole is that come late afternoon and dusk the midges begin to bite. A regular comment is that Beckhole has midges as big as cock pheasants.
