Unveiling Ceremony, The Willows, 1962
In 1962, I watched Hugh Gaitskell and Dan Smith unveil a prize winning bronze sculpture outside The Willows. We nicknamed the statue 'The Monstrosity'. It wasn't there long, someone said it had been stolen and melted down for scrap.
