Wills' Factory
Isabella Jedrzejczyk (Photographer), Ellin Hare (Writer)
I started in 1954. The factory had been open for four years and everyone was still very keen. There was a sense of growth, a sense of purpose. In those days you did anything because there were no unions there was no job structure, nobody bothered much about that sort of thing. It was a paternal company and you just did as you were told. In 1955 it expanded very suddenly and we decentralised a lot of work from Bristol and in a matter of months about another 30 staff started and it just sort of took off.
