Sitting at the heart of Newcastle's Quayside, Side Cafe is a great place to be with a commitment to good food in an informal setting. Our busy programme is peppered with brilliant live music and cinema nights and bi-monthy art exhibitions.
Our lovely upstairs lounge and in house cinema are also available for private hire, please call for prices.
The best coffees and teas on Newcastle's Quayside; a great breakfast menu during the week or for the perfect weekend brunch; truly beautiful homemade cakes & pastries, a lunch menu with our own soups, salads, sandwiches and a daily changing selection of blackboard specials. Anything that can be put in a container can be taken out during the day. If you're eating in, there is small but well-chosen selection of wines and beers and an extraordinary collection of whiskies and spirits. Side Café is about good food in a friendly and informal atmosphere.
We are trying our very best to ensure that there are always good options for vegans and vegetarians but please let us know if you have any suggestions!
The café is open 9am- Midnight Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm, Saturday & Sunday (Unless we have a very special gig!). The kitchen is open 9am to 9pm, Monday to Friday, and 9am to 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
As part of KINOFILM: Sunderland Film Festival’s commitment to establish an ongoing International Film Festival and Film Based Community Project in the City.
We are looking for local film makers to take part in a competition to have their newly made short film or trailer premiered on KINOFILM: Sunderland Film Festivals Website when it launches in late January 2009.
The Top 5 Films that make the short list will feature on the new website and the overall winner will have their work featured on the home page for one whole month. The intention is to make this an ongoing feature with new locally made work being given a spotlight each month.
We are looking for Film Makers to make a short film that covers the topic of film making in Sunderland. So whether you make an animation, documentary or dramatic piece it’s entirely up to you. Be as factual or fanciful as you like!
RULES:
1. The Film must be about Film Making in Sunderland 2. It must be no longer than 5 minutes running time 3. Submitted in this format! File type: .mov and Ratio 640x480 4. Must be suitable for viewing by all ages 5. Limit of 2 films per film maker 6. You must have made the film in 2008 7. Closing Date is 15th December 2008
