Tyneside Cinema
Currently based in Gateshead Old Town Hall while the Pilgrim Street venue in Newcastle is being given the big Heritage Lottery treatment, Tyneside Cinema not only screens a range of contemporary and classic films, it organises Northern Lights Film Festival and develops a range of education and outreach work. Star & Shadow
Created by the loose collective of four groups who programmed at Side Cinema for a while (Cineside, Radical Side, The A Side and The Other Side), Star & Shadow is a brand new independent/alternative cinema and music venue, programming a wide range of classic/contemporary/world/engaged/gay and lesbian/artist film.
