We’ve radically increased the documentary film and video content and you’ll now be able to watch clips for free or stream Amber’s films at modest prices! The videos made by Amber’s Current Affairs Unit in the 1980s, from Why Support the Miners to Shields Stories, were always meant for free viewing, so we’ve kept it that way.
We’ve also put up lots of original interviews and documentary rushes – more T Dan Smith than you could shake a stick at, but also fascinating material such as the Writers & Audience weekend from 1982, featuring Tom Hadaway, Barry Hines, Jim Allen, Philip Donnellan and Jeremy Seabrook. You can access the 1983 Miners’ Weekend School as Supporting Material for the Current Affairs Unit’s News from Durham. The the Miners’ Weekend School from 1984 is also up there. There’s so much – and a whole network of related items will allow you to spend hours on the site! Go for it! We’ve spent months putting it all up…
